PIANO MOVING
Here's a photo of Mr. McClure with his piano moving crew unloading an antique square grand piano, one of the heaviest of all pianos to move at just under 1000 lbs!. If he can move one of these monsters, you know he can move anything else. Usually one day per week Mr. McClure gets his crew together and can be seen delivering pianos, picking up pianos he's purchased or is taking to the shop for repairs, or just providing the finest local piano moving for another satisfied customer. He makes piano moving look deceptively easy and that's why you should let him do it and not try it yourself. Even if it cost your $225 or so to have a small piano moved, that would be a tiny amount of money should you try to do it yourself, have an accident and injure yourself or one of your "friends". Such an accident could even cause you to become a defendant in a court of law. Would it really be worth that to you? Of course not. Mr. McClure carries liability insurance and his employees are covered by a worker's compensation policy. No matter where you live in the tri-state area, or what your situation is, Mr. McClure can take care of your piano moving needs. Trust him, you'll be glad you did. He is also properly licensed in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania to provide this service.
Mr. McClure is blesssed with a really good set of ears and that's what he relies on to tune your piano. After using just one tuning fork set at A-440, Mr. McClure will proceed to "give your piano a pitch"! He does not charge extra for pitch raises like some other "piano tooners" but if it is exceptionally out of tune, he will probably make a recommendation to have it tuned again within 2-3 months. Once he gets your piano stabilized, you can have him come and perform an annual tuning (aka check-up) on your piano once per year and you will be amazed at how well your piano will hold its tune in between his visits to your home or church. Mr. McClure is the principal piano tuner for the Maryland Symphony, the Maryland Theatre, and the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts. In other words, he prepares all of the concert pianos for all of the artists in this area that you go to hear perform! Since they are always extremely pleased with the pianos he prepares, you can rest assured that you will be as well. This is also a service that Mr. McClure is properly licensed to perform in your home in West Virginia, Maryland, or Pennsylvania. One last request from Mr. McClure with regards to tuning: IT NEEDS TO BE VERY, VERY, VERY QUIET!!!!!
Lastly, if you're shopping for price and desire the cheapest price possible, that might not be Mr. McClure so keep shopping. But if you want it done right, at a competitive price, and know that it has been serviced as well as possible, then that would be Mr. McClure!
Look at this happy couple. This Conway Upright was very carefully restored at McClure's Piano Shop. Work included restringing, new tuning pins, new keytops, and a completely refinished mahogany cabinet. Why do they look so happy? Because now their 9 year old son can learn to play his great-grandparents piano!
This display of beautifully restored pianos could go on indefinitely. But suffice it to say, let the pictures speak for themselves. And you can rest assured, all of these pianos shown are once more singing like the day they were made thanks to the meticulous craftsmanship of Mr. McClure!
